James W. Perry, V.P. Director, Finance, Random House Children Books

Mr. James W. Perry is V.P. Director, Finance Random House Children’s Books (RHCB) since Oct 2020. In this position his role is very comprehensive including serving as the financial and operations voice for the Random House Children’s Book group on an intra and inter-divisional basis; he manages the business and financial operations of RHCB; and controls and approves Divisional Financial Budgeting and Re-forecastimg.

During his long and productive tenure at Penguin Random House he has served as Director, Finance Random House Children’s Books from Aug 2016 – Oct 2020; and Business Manager Random House Children’s Books Jul 2002 – Aug 2016, where he was responsible to create, monitor and control the budget and 2 annual reforecasts, reporting monthly financial statements including commentary to CFO, Publisher, EVP of Business.

He has over 20 years of leadership expertise in financial management, budgeting and business operations, including experience with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion boards. His corporate activity has run in conjunction with community involvement that includes ecclesial leadership and social justice organizations. He serves as Board member of RHCB Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee, providing guidance and support for the PRH corporate People of Color ERG as Exec Sponsor. He participates as Mentor in various corporate and divisional mentorship programs.

His Penguin Random House Inc.’s stellar career includes productive roles in various publishing entities of PRH: Senior Business Analyst, Crown Publishing Group; and Business Analyst, in Reference and Travel Publishing. Prior to joining PRH, Mr. Perry spent 5yrs at Forbes Inc. as aFinancial Analyst / Accountant. A deeply spiritual man, his beliefs and faith have given him rich Ecclesiastical experiences as well, currently serving, since 2015, as Associate Pastor, for Spiritual Formation and Information Technology at Bethany Baptist Church, Brooklyn, NY. He has served in various pastoral and ministerial posts in severalchurches in the Metro NYC Area.

Mr. Perry holds a Master of Divinity Degree, Union Theological Seminary New York and Bachelor of Business Administration - Finance Baruch College City University of New York With regards to Community Fellowship, Mr. Perry serves asNAACP (Peekskill, NY) 2nd Vice President.
